About the Problem
Binho came to us looking to accelerate product development and reduce the time to market for their next-generation multi-protocol USB host adapters. The development and verification of the embedded system supporting multiple communication protocols, including the introduction of MIPI I3C, required a high level of optimization and keen attention to detail. The complexity of integrating these protocols into a single, easy-to-use adapter, combined with the need for seamless operation across different operating systems and extreme performance, presented a formidable technical challenge.

The Solution
Our development process ended with the delivery of two USB Multi-Protocol Host Adapters, integrating support for I3C, I2C, SPI, UART, 1-Wire, CAN-FD, RS485, and GPIO functions. The hardware was meticulously designed to include a variety of connectors, such as I2C qwiic 4-pin ports and versatile 2x15-pin connectors for multiple functionalities. The embedded software was tailored to enable easy interaction with testing devices across various protocols, allowing for voltage adjustments, dynamic address assignments, and advanced features like In-Band Interrupts (IBIs) and Hot-Join in I3C communication. The solution was further enhanced by the development of the Binho Mission Control desktop app and SDKs, providing users with powerful tools for automation and device management.
